And all of a sudden we find ourselves adapting to a completely new norm.
Let's not change what we wear socialising but let's modify how we wear it. No matter what your style, we all love to dress up going for a few sociables with our pals. And let's face it, even though heels make everything look good we have way more fun without them!!!
So we are ditching the heels and adding; lace up boots (Dr.Martens will always be our go to, I can see the eye roll from my friends!!), cute lace up brogue style shoes, espadrilles, sliders and flat mules to our 'Most Worn' shoes this summer.
That slinky midi that you wore to your last wedding? Layer it over a slogan tee, with your black lace up boots and a black belt to waist it. A fun coloured chunky knit for cooler evenings will be a great addition to any wardrobe. Let's face it, lace up boots aren't everyones cup of tea espadrilles, sliders or mules will be just as good with this style.
Just because we've ditched the heels doesn't mean our favourite figure hugging mini dress is out of bounds. Pop on your lace up shoes with cute matching socks for a super girly vibe.
Wear your dressiest top with light wash ripped jeans, a pair of sliders, a matching belt and some sunnies to amp up the vibes.
Tailored wide leg trousers or culottes can be teamed with chilled tees, flat mules and a leather jacket draped over your shoulders.
These are all ideas on how we will be styling ourselves for a summer filled with fun. Think outside the box. Don't look at a gorgeous dress in a store and say "But sure where would I wear that?" ... Look at the dress and say "How would I wear that?".
